Second Passing Keller
A Labyrinth
under Second Life
The S.P.K. collective - composed of a number of writers, artists, actors, ghosts, musicians and media daemons - wish to construct and inhabit a system of tunnels under Second Life. These tunnels will be accessible from numerous manholes, distributed throughout the virtual landscape. The collective wish to perform and express their ideas within this virtual domain.
The space should be thought of as a "Zone" in the Tarkovskian
sense. It is outside of any Euclydian schema. Elite mathematician, < SEA 2 > will conceive its dimensionality and the consequent fabric of its
navigation. In terms of "virtual real estate" within Second Life, Second Passing Keller
shall be seen to occupy only the surface area of a collection of man-holes,
which may or may not open towards the Immeasurable: the Terra Incognito of an
infinitely extending space.
Second Passing Keller should also be thought of as a nether world
where the blackest despair or the wildest hopes may be shared. It will thus be
rated 18+ immediately, and visitors warned: "Descend at Your Own Risk..."
Visual ambiance: catacombs; bomb shelter,
Foucault's Salpetri¸re: home to the dangerously insane.
Ethos: dystopic haven; a sewer for society;
the collective's unconscious:
all is permitted: nothing is real...
Second Passing Keller welcomes the rats back to the sunken ship.
Space: parabolic "tunnels" littered with peeling billboards; fragments of side-shows; a growing nexus of electronic connections; passageways built by and for the Dead, the Deceived and the Disillusioned; curious mutterings from the shadows; stimming rituals, sounds from oblivion; old evil; grand mal.
Experience: lost in the dark with the Inhabitants, following the scream of the corpse, through an evolving, rhizomatic Inferno.
Participation: play with the Inhabitants.
Evolution: Become a member of the Second Passing Keller.
